Bob Anderson was known as a stunt double for Darth Vader in A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi (and played many other roles in various movies.)
Not many people knew who Bob Anderson was or what he did mainly because Anderson’s role in Star Wars was supposed to be kept a secret. However, Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) couldn’t take the fact that such a great man wasn’t given any credit for his incredible work that in an 1983 interview Hamill said:
“Bob Anderson was the man who actually did Vader’s fighting. It was always supposed to be a secret, but I finally told George I didn’t think it was fair any more. Bob worked so bloody hard that he deserves some recognition. It’s ridiculous to preserve the myth that it’s all done by one man.”
There’s been a terrible disturbance in the Force.
